Why should I be tested and treated for food sensitivities?
Most people don’t know that there is a huge difference between food allergies and food sensitivities, but there is. According to the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health (CDC) an estimated 3.9% of children under the age of 18 and 2% of adults have food allergies. While that equals a lot of people, a more startling statistic is that an estimated 30% of people suffer from food sensitivities. The reality is that food sensitivity play a major role in many common health conditions including chronic pain; unfortunately most people are not aware that their food may be making them sick. Most conventional doctors do not test for food sensitivities.
What are the common symptoms from food sensitivities?
As stated before, there are a lot of chronic health conditions which are related to food sensitivities. If you don’t see your condition listed, but you and your doctors are spinning your wheels trying to figure out what is wrong without answers, you may be suffering from food sensitivities.
Common symptoms of Food Sensitivities are:
These symptoms are caused by our immune systems’ reaction to foods, additived other substances in our diet. Sometimes, the reactive food is something easy to identify, like milk. Other times it’s a food chemical like solanine and it’s anything but easy to determine. The problem is that you can be reactive to anys an food or food additive and not even know it. Even food which are considered healthy such as chicken, broccoli or garlic can cause symptoms. Often there are many reactive foods or chemicals, not just one or two. In addition, reactions can be delayed and or dose-dependent. Unless you eat a lot of the reactive food, you may not feel the effects of a reaction until many hours or days after you’ve eaten the reactive foods. For all of these reasons, dealing with food sensitivities on your own is very difficult. Our team of experts are here to help you get faster and more effective results.
